What a great place!!!! Beautiful cabin. Beautiful views. What made it even better was the customer service after we left. I left my flashlight behind in the cabin when we checked out. This flashlight has sentimental value because it was a Father's Day gift. I emailed Barbara and she said, "No worries we found it and its on its way back to you!" No questions, no shipping cost, no issues. This is what I call service! Thank you, Barbara and Rosana!!!! I highly recommend Eagle Landing Resort. We had our office retreat there and it was amazing. The cabins were clean and comfortable, the covered fire pit was a wonderful gathering location and the grounds were beautiful. We will return! We stayed in the Red salmon cabin. This cabin was outdated and overpriced. There was very old carpet and linoleum, a small fridge, and no television. The website is deceptive regarding the cabins. I have stayed in many other cabins on the Kenai Peninsula which were a lot nicer, had better amenities, and were less expensive. The market rate in this area for a cabin this size and this outdated is $90.00 per night. Our rate for August was $159.00 per night. The staff was nice but did not answer the phone when called. The scenery in this area is awesome, the mountains and Kenai river are beautiful. Scenic place with very nice and friendly people. Awesome experience!! The good stuff first: the grounds are well-maintained and it's in a lovely location overlooking the river. Simple charcoal grills and a grocery store across the street make it easy to grill the salmon you caught that day. And the new cabins look nice, at least from the outside. But the cabin we were in, Sailfish, was just terrible. It looked like it was built by someone who had never done construction before, and had no sense of pride. There was so much tilt to the floor you felt like you were walking on a boat. The shower was useless, beds were uncomfortable, and--in the Alaskan summer--we felt as though sunlight had never made it inside this place. We mostly had good luck with lodging on our trip, but not at the Eagle Landing. Next time we'll stay at The Hutch (as we did on our way back through town.)
